The National Police Chief Welcomes Andika Perkasa: Hopefully the TNI-Polri will be stronger

National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo congratulated General TNI Andika Perkasa who had been officially inaugurated as TNI Commander. The former Army Chief of Staff was sworn in by President Jokowi at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Wednesday afternoon.
“On this occasion, I am Police General Drs. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, the Chief of the Indonesian National Police and the extended family of the Indonesian National Police, congratulate the inauguration of General TNI Andika Perkasa as the Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces,” he said on his official Instagram account, @headkepolisian_ri.
The former Banten Police Chief hopes that the synergy and solidity of the TNI-Polri will be stronger in dealing with various kinds of threats and challenges faced by Indonesia.
“Hopefully the solidity and synergy between the TNI and Polri will be stronger in facing various challenges and threats that will disrupt the stability of the nation and state as the main capital in the national development process,” said Listyo Sigit.
As the front line guarding the sovereignty and integrity of the Republic of Indonesia, said National Police Chief Listyo Sigit, the TNI must always be ready to face the increasingly complex dynamics of the strategic environment and the wider spectrum of threats such as cyber threats, hybrid wars, violations of sovereignty and other threats.
“For that we need a professional and modern TNI figure so that it can transform into an Indonesian defense force capable of playing a role in regional and global strategic environments,” said the former Police Criminal Investigation Officer.
On that occasion, Listyo Sigit also said that the TNI and Polri are the front line in handling and controlling the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia. “During this Covid-19 pandemic, the TNI and Polri are always present as a source of strategic strength in the context of controlling Covid-19 and maintaining the stability of the defense and security of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI),” he said.
Listyo Sigit believes that the TNI will be more loved by the community and will always be at the forefront of maintaining the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia.
“I believe that the TNI will be more professional and loved by the people and will be present in maintaining the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia on land, sea and air. Enjoy your duty. TNI is us,” he concluded.
