Anticipating the La Nina Disaster in the country, this is what the police have prepared

The Indonesian National Police (Polri) held Operation Safe Nusa II in order to anticipate natural disasters in the country, starting at the Headquarters and regional or regional levels. The Safe Nusa II operation is routinely carried out in the lead up to climate change.

“This is something that is routinely done when climate change approaches, from dry to rainy season, which tends to cause a lot of problems with natural disasters such as landslides and floods,” said the Head of the Public Information Bureau of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono in Jakarta on Thursday, November 11, 2021.

According to him, the National Police has prepared since 2020, such as the number of personnel deployed to the equipment needed. So, in the event of a disaster, personnel will immediately move.

“So it just needs to be implemented, now we have started to anticipate. If there is a disaster, play (move) them. Prevention is also reminding the community of mitigation about anticipating the disaster,” he said. Of course, he said, prevention was not only carried out by the Police and the TNI. But from the beginning, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) and local government (Pemda) have also carried out.
