During the 14 days of Operation Patuh Jaya, Polda Metro Jaya gave tickets to 44,000 violent vehicles

During the 14 days of Operation Patuh Jaya 2021, the police took action against 44,000 vehicles. Details of the vehicles that were taken into action include 32,554 two-wheeled vehicles, 6,765 four-wheeled vehicles and 4,684 public transport vehicles.

As many as 3,595 motorcycles were ticketed for using noisy exhausts, aka racing. In addition, 144 vehicles were ticketed for using rotator lights on private vehicles.

“There are also cases of using the wrong number plate 806, going against the flow of 8,028, violating the 6,255 no parking sign, using the 1,983 busway, violating odd-even 58, not wearing a helmet 4,823, and other violations 22,856,” explained the Head of the Law Enforcement Sub-Directorate. Previously, the Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General, Mohammad Fadil Imran, explained that the 2021 Patuh Jaya Operation would start on September 20, 2021, and run until October 3, 2021. This operation involved 3,070 personnel consisting of 1,391 regional police task forces and 1,679 resort police task forces.

In Operation Paruh Jaya 2021, the two-star general explained that the police used several indicators to measure the success of this operation. The first indicator is the decrease in the number of traffic violations this year compared to last year.

“In 2020 there were 1,930,983 traffic violations,” explained the Metro Jaya Police Chief.

Besides aiming to reduce the number of traffic violations, Operation Patuh Jaya is now functioning to promote health protocols. The officers were ordered to provide advice and socialization to the public for orderly traffic, disciplined health protocols, and restrictions on public transportation modes, shopping places or malls, restaurants, and public facilities during PPKM as instructed by the Minister of Home Affairs Number 42 of 2021.
