Thousands of Social Assistance Packages for UMKM from the Police and the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association

MEDIA JABODETABEK – Coinciding with the celebration of the 76th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, the National Police distributed 2,000 social assistance packages to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the Cakung area, East Jakarta.

Quoted from ANTARA Tuesday, August 17, 2021, the Head of the Traffic Corps of the National Police Headquarters Inspector General Pol Istiono together with the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association and the Indonesian SME Coordinator have helped MSMEs in the Cakung area.

Istiono took the time to meet directly with the local RT management, who said that 85 percent of the residents had been vaccinated against COVID-19.

The two-star police general said the Indonesian people must work together to face the COVID-19 pandemic.

He said the assistance was a step that needed to be completed together, such as social services and the distribution of masks.

Istiono hopes that all of this, namely the assistance provided, can be useful and that MSMEs will continue to exist, be nurtured and managed so that the economy can continue to grow.

Meanwhile, Anto Yankar, General Chairperson of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association, said that his party supports the National Police in coordinating and assisting MSMEs in their activities.

Indonesian SME Coordinator Dietje W Mawuntu emphasized that SMEs can be financially independent and maintain small businesses to support their families.

At the same time, Jayadi Ismanto, Head of RT10/018 Kelurahan Pgilan, Cakung Subdistrict, East Jakarta, hopes that stakeholders can monitor and develop MSMEs in a sustainable manner in order to survive.

In line with the UMKM of the Pinus Elok Flats, Khosiah admitted that this kind of assistance was very helpful because the income during the COVID-19 pandemic was only 20 percent to 30 percent.***
