Jokowi will make two speeches at the MPR Annual Session

Merdeka.com – President Joko Widodo or Jokowi will deliver two talks at the Annual Session of the MPR, the Joint Session of the DPR and DPD RI in 2021, Monday, August 16, 2021 tomorrow. The public can watch Jokowi’s speech on National TV or the Presidential Secretariat Youtube.

First, Jokowi will deliver the Speech of the President of the Republic of Indonesia in the framework of the Annual Session of the Indonesian People’s Consultative Assembly and the Joint Session of the DPR RI-DPD RI in 2021. This speech will be delivered by Jokowi at 08.30 WIB.

Furthermore, Jokowi delivered the framework of the Indonesian President’s Speech in the context of Submission of the Bill on the State Budget for Fiscal Year 2022 accompanied by a Financial Note and Supporting Documents at 10.30 WIB. The annual session is a routine agenda that is held every August 16.

Previously, this year’s MPR Annual Session implemented strict health protocols (prokes). The event will be carried out in a minimalist manner with participants and the timing will be shorter.

Regarding participants, there are only 60 invitees who will physically attend. The details of the 60 people who were physically present were President Joko Widodo and Vice President Ma’ruf Amin, DPR leaders (5 people), MPR leaders (10 people), DPD faction leaders/groups (10 people).

The faction leaders in the DPR (9 people), the DPD leaders (4 people), sub-regional representatives (4 people), and 4 heads of state institutions (Chairman of the BPK, Chairman of the Supreme Court, Chairman of the Constitutional Court, and Chairman of KY).

The ministers who attended were Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Coordinating Minister for Marives, Minister of State Secretariat, Cabinet Secretary, Minister of Finance, Head of Bappenas, Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces, and Chief of Police.

Meanwhile, 540 members of the DPR and 124 members of the DPD, 103 ambassadors/representatives of friendly countries, 8 BPK leaders, 9 Supreme Court (MA) ranks, 7 Constitutional Court (MK) ranks, 6 Judicial Commission (KY) ranks, and 34 governors throughout the country. Indonesia will be present virtually.
