TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto and National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo led a meeting on the handling and control of Covid-19 together with Forkopimda Bantul and Sleman, Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY), Sunday (8/8/2021).
In his briefing, Sigit revealed that the DIY Province experienced economic growth of 11.81 percent during the Covid-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, at the national or overall level, the Indonesian economy is estimated to grow by 7.07 percent.
Sigit emphasized that to maintain the momentum of improving the economy, it must be accompanied by the implementation of the Covid-19 control strategy.
“DIY’s economy has grown by 11.81 percent. We must maintain this momentum of economic growth with health as the basic capital. If Covid-19 cases can be suppressed, economic growth can return to normal. So it is necessary to carry out a Covid-19 control strategy while still paying attention to balance, “said Sigit in his briefing to Forkopimda DIY.
Sigit explained that the Covid-19 control strategy, including the 3M health protocol (washing hands, wearing masks and keeping a distance), must be carried out in a disciplined manner by the community. Then the second, by strengthening 3T (Testing, Tracing, and Treatment). And lastly, is to accelerate or accelerate vaccination.
“This shows optimism that Indonesia is resilient in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic and is ready to make a leap in economic growth. We must maintain this momentum of economic growth with health as the basic capital. If the Covid-19 case can be suppressed, economic growth can return to normal, “said the former Banten Police Chief.
According to Sigit, all these efforts have also been in accordance with the instructions of the Indonesian President, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), who instructed them to carry out the speed of vaccination, especially in areas that are centers of mobility and economic activity, the massive application of 3M in all components of society, and testing activities., tracing, isolation, and massive treatment, including maintaining BOR, adding centralized isolation facilities, as well as ensuring the availability of medicine and oxygen supply
The former Police Chief of the Criminal Investigation Unit also appealed to the Provincial Government, Regional Government, TNI, Polri, and related agencies together with the community to work together to ensure that health protocols are carried out in a disciplined and strict manner, especially in the economic center of the community.
Meanwhile, Sigit asked that in the midst of implementing PPKM Level 1-4, the synergy of the 4 Pillars also strengthen the role in the implementation of Micro PPKM. Among them, optimizing 5M, maximizing 3T, and distributing social assistance to the community quickly and on target.
On the other hand, Sigit also highlighted the Bed Occupancy Rate (BOR) in DIY, which ranks third nationally at 74 percent, from data released by the Ministry of Health as of August 6, 2021.
According to Sigit, to anticipate the occupancy of the beds, Forkopimda must increase the conversion of beds in hospitals by 40 to 60 percent. Then, they added beds in centralized isolation by utilizing the Education and Training Center, GOR, and school buildings.
“Case finding – must be done earlier so that therapy can be carried out earlier. Utilization of centralized isolation at the sub-district and district and city levels so that patients with mild symptoms can be treated, monitored, and immediately referred if symptoms worsen, “said Sigit.
The implementation of the implementation of self-isolation must also carry out a number of protocols, namely, attaching stickers including the cellphone numbers of Bhabinkamtibmas, Bhabinsa and health workers.
Then, prohibiting residents from mobilizing outside the house and conducting intensive patrols, creating special WhatsApp groups for exposed residents to facilitate communication with officers, and spraying disinfectants around the house regularly.
“Distributing basic living necessities and medicine to residents’ homes, and conducting special treatment and regular health checks to speed up healing,” said Sigit.
In addition, said Sigit, accelerating the distribution of social assistance and medicine packages must also be carried out. This is to help ease the burden on the community in the midst of the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Not only that, according to Sigit, the acceleration of vaccination must also be carried out in synergy with all elements of society. The goal is that the target of herd immunity or group immunity against the corona virus can be realized immediately.
“The National Police have carried out 604 mass vaccination activities and 2,916 social assistance activities with various elements of society. The National Police carried out the provision of social assistance involving 332 CSOs through the distribution of 163,466 basic food packages and 749,171 kg of rice, as well as 371,941 vaccination targets together with community elements, “concluded Sigit.
