Police and HMI Distribute Aid for Overseas Students in Ciputat

TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – The National Police again carried out a social action by distributing aid to overseas students on Jalan Pesanggrahan, Ciputat, South Tangerang, Banten, Monday (9/8/2021).

In this social action, the National Police collaborated with the Executive Board of the Islamic Student Association (PB HMI).

A total of 1,000 food packages were distributed in the areas that implemented PPKM Level 4.

Kakorlantas Inspector General Istiono representing the National Police distributed the aid to overseas students.

“The National Police together with the brothers from HMI Rayhan are doing social services together, visiting younger brothers who are overseas students in the Ciputat area,” said Inspector General Istiono.

Istiono explained, overseas students really need help because they are far from their parents.

Istiono hopes that this assistance can help students and focus more on completing their education.

“Today, we are distributing 1000 food packages to our overseas student brothers who live in the Ciputat area, including the people here. With this togetherness, this social service may be useful for overseas student brothers and around the community here, ” he explained.

Besides that, Istiono also gave his appreciation to the local RT for intensively collecting data on the community to carry out vaccines.

Istiono hopes that this achievement can help residents stay healthy through this pandemic.

“I asked Pak RT earlier that 80 percent of the vaccinations here have been carried out, meaning that public health will be stronger in the future,” he said.

On the same occasion, the General Chairperson of PB HMI Rayhan Aria Tama expressed his gratitude for the concern of the Police for the students, especially overseas students.According to Rayhan, this pandemic will not only affect health but also the economy.

“First of all, we would like to thank Mr. Kakorlantas representing the National Police, thank you for your assistance for social assistance to the community and also of course to fellow students who are far from their hometowns and parents. During this pandemic, it is not only a health problem but also has an effect economy that makes it difficult for us to meet our needs,” he said.

Rayhan hopes that these Overseas students can survive during the pandemic and focus more on completing their studies.

“We from PB HMI appreciate it because the concern of public officials is very important these days. Indeed, not only logistical needs but also the need for enthusiasm, we must also release positive energy so that we can provide additional enthusiasm for us to fight to resolve and break the chain of the pandemic. Covid-19,” he said.

A recipient of UIN Avisena student aid from Palu, Central Sulawesi admitted to having difficulties during this pandemic.

Avisena had to rack his brains to manage his finances in order to survive and get through this pandemic.

“It’s hard being the first overseas child to be required to be independent away from parents, how do we manage money and time so that we can survive for a long time,” he said.

He also expressed his gratitude for the assistance provided by the Police.

“I thank you, Pak Kakor, for this assistance, the rice and oil are very helpful. This assistance is about a week if we can save it, depending on how we manage it,” he said.
