Bengkulu Police We successfully foiled the smuggling of 4,335 seeds

The Ditpolairud of the Bengkulu Police together with the National Police’s Security Preservation Agency (Baharkam) have arrested two perpetrators of the smuggling of 4,335 fries worth more than Rp. 650 million in Kaur Regency, Bengkulu Province.

The Head of Public Relations of the Bengkulu Police, Kombes Pol. Sudarno, said the two perpetrators were the initials LAF (34) an entrepreneur, and IS (45) who was a fisherman.

The two perpetrators were arrested on Thursday (15/07/21) at around 21.30 WIB at one of the hotels on Jalan Lintas Barat Sumatra, precisely in the Village Head Market, South Kau District, Kaur Regency, Bengkulu Province.

“This arrest was carried out with an undercover buying system. So we tried to buy this lobster seed and then we caught it and made a disclosure, “said Kombes Pol. Sudarno.

The Head of Public Relations of the Bengkulu Police added that the disclosure of this case was also the result of cooperation between the Bengkulu Police’s Ditpolairud and the crew of the 7007 Antareja Ship belonging to the National Police Headquarters Baharkam.

The two perpetrators have been named suspects and are currently being held for further investigation.

Both were charged with Article 88 in conjunction with Article 16 of Law Number 45 of 2009 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 2004 concerning Fisheries with a penalty of six years in prison and a fine of Rp. 1.5 billion.
