FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA – A total of 8,394 joint TNI-Polri personnel are deployed for the implementation of the PON XX Papua which will be held on October 2-15, 2021.
“Surely we have calculated well. In particular, security in the Land of Papua is around 8,394 TNI-Polri personnel,” said the Papuan Police Chief Inspector General Pol. Mathius DF ended in the 9th Merdeka Barat Forum Discussion (FMB9) which was held virtually with the title “Papua is Ready to Hold PON XX 2021” on Wednesday (14/7/2021).
PON XX 2021 will take place in four regions, namely Jayapura City, Jayapura Regency, Mimika Regency, and Merauke Regency. The Police Chief is also very confident that the implementation of PON XX 2021 in Papua will run smoothly and safely.
“The implementation of the PON XX 2021 in Papua is the pride of all of us in the Land of Papua. So I really believe and don’t believe that the people in the Land of Papua will provide security guarantees for all our brothers, the contingent who will be present in the Land of Papua, “said the Kapolda.
On this occasion, the Regional Police Chief also revealed that if faced with a problem, he continued to coordinate with all stakeholders involved, including local governments in the four locations where the PON was held.
He admitted that there were still a few disturbances in the Land of Papua. However, he ensured that the disturbance was located far from the venue for the PON XX.
“It’s true that there are disturbances, but it’s not in the clusters where the PON will be held. And the intensity has also been reduced by 0.2 percent. So it’s not too big and far from these four clusters, “explained the Kapolda.
He hopes that regional heads whose regions often experience disturbances can help the TNI-Polri in making approaches. So that during the implementation of PON there are no things that interfere with the comfort of the contingent participants.
He also said that he would soon conduct a simulation of the implementation of PON XX 2021. Simulations were carried out so that the opening, holding and closing of PON XX could run safely and smoothly as planned.
The Regional Police Chief has also ordered the Police Chiefs whose territory is the location of the PON XX to coordinate with the regents so that the PON implementation can run safely and comfortably.
