Around 32,000 East Java Residents Netted by Emergency PPKM Operations

This information was conveyed by the East Java Regional Police Chief, Inspector General of Police Nico Afinta when receiving a visit from the National Police Chief General Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo and TNI Commander Marshal TNI Hadi Tjahjanto in Surabaya, Friday (9/7/2021).

The Regional Police Chief explained that the violations of the residents during the Emergency PPKM were recorded based on the results of the judicial operation held by the East Java Satpol PP together with the East Java Regional Police and Regional Military Command V/Brawijaya to the district/city level.

“We from the East Java Forkopimda continue to synergize in carrying out judicial operations as an effort to reduce the spread of Covid-19,” he said.

The target of the justice operation is the activities of the community, people and places. Of the three things, he said, several violations were found, so the joint team carried out on-site and online hearings carried out by the High Court and the ranks of the court.

“While the violations found during the operation were crowding, not wearing masks, violating rules related to restrictions on activities at certain hours, such as at 5 pm still selling and opening shops in unspecified places,” said the Kapolda.

He emphasized that the purpose of the judicial operation was to increase public awareness. “We invite the public to obey the rules,” added the police chief.

During the Emergency PPKM, the East Java Provincial Government together with Kodam V/Brawijaya, East Java Police and Koarmada II also worked together to carry out insulation operations.
