ETLE, Polri’s Innovation That Continues to Prove Its Benefits

Jakarta – The technology-based innovation tool applied by the Indonesian National Police, ETLE, continues to show its reliability and benefits. Most recently, with ETLE the police were able to arrest a man with the initials ZO, who is strongly suspected of being the perpetrator of the heinous hit-and-run crime of a chicken noodle trader on Jalan Sudirman, Jakarta. ETLE’s camera recorded her face, car and license plate.

“This shows that the ETLE equipment is indeed sophisticated and the technology is very efficient,” said the Coordinator of the Indonesian Student and Millennial Alliance (AMMI), Nurkhasanah in a written statement, Sunday (23/5/21).

According to Nurkhasanah, in only about three months, ETLE continued to show various achievements that deserve thumbs up. ETLE’s most recent outstanding achievement is to prove a man with the initials ZO as the hit-and-run perpetrator of a chicken noodle vendor on Jalan Sudirman, Jakarta, which is not only a traffic violation but also a crime.

“Once again ETLE can prove its supernatural powers,” said Dirlantas Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo, Saturday (22/5/2021), responding to these findings. In the recorded photo, the perpetrator’s face is clearly recorded on the ETLE camera. From the photo, ZO is seen alone in the car when the hit-and-run incident occurred.

“From here we can reveal the number plates (of the perpetrator’s car). Then we can reveal who the rider was on the night of the incident, ”said Sambodo.

At least, according to Nurkhasanah’s records, it was only two days since its use in Bandung, in the Flower City that ETLE had recorded 5,000 violations. During a month of use, in Makassar ETLE recorded 52 thousand violations; a month operating in Central Java, 11 thousand violations were recorded. In just a few days of operation, ETLE recorded 1,500 violations in Palembang, as well as many other records from all over Indonesia that confirm how effective ETLE is.

“In Riau, ETLE even recorded three police officers, one of which was an officer with the rank of the Police Commissioner who was killed in the car,” said Nurkhasanah. Thus, said Nurkhasanah, ETLE not only records traffic violations, but also records criminal acts that disturb and disturb public safety.

For this reason, as an Indonesian student and millennial, Nurkhasanah expressed his appreciation and salute for the Polri’s breakthrough in this innovation. “All of this cannot be separated from the figure of the National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo, who gave the direction for all the innovative steps taken by the National Police and the Head of Korlantas Polri, Insp. Gen. Istiono, who implemented the Police Chief’s 100 Day Program,” said Nurkhasanah.

It is known, some time ago that the Police Traffic Police Headquarters Inspector General of Police stated that the Korlantas ranks were still working so that the implementation of ETLE could be completed in 34 Polda throughout Indonesia. He said, the integrated electronic ticketing system from the Police, Polda, to Korlantas Polri.

“Technically in the field, we will continue to work to complete this program in stages until all 34 regional police are installed. At all points we need to install ETLE, of course, based on our mapping and analysis. “Which point is the most crucial and we need to install ETLE there,” said Istiono, Tuesday (23/3/21).

“The application of electronic tickets is already in effect in 12 regional police in Indonesia. There are 244 new monitoring cameras installed. Then the next stage will be installed in 10 Polda, “he said.

According to Nurkhasanah, actually from a macro perspective, with ETLE, it proved the success of the first 100 days of General Listyo Sigit’s leadership as the National Police Chief. “In rough terms, we can even say, with the 100-day ETLE that the Chief of the National Police has shown the transformative, adaptive and renovative face of the Police to the times, especially technology, in addition to other achievements such as the Precision Online SIM Application and E Public Complaints and Emergency Contact Number 110. Nurkhasanah. He said that what stands out in the leadership of the National Police Chief in supervising the National Police is how the Chief of Police shows that it is time for the Police to optimize technology to carry out the institution’s mandate to serve and protect the public.

In the matter of technology optimization, Nurkhasanah pointed out how the National Police Chief did not hesitate to take technology options in helping the National Police carry out their noble duties of public service and protection. “The technology clearly exists. The problem is that it is leadership that determines strictly whether the technology will be optimized to help service tasks, or if it is left unused, “said Nurkhasanah. Coupled with the police chief’s assistants who also dare to take advantage of technology for the benefit of the community, which is then implemented nationally by the National Police Corps and in the field like what was done by Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya yesterday, the courageous and responsible leadership of the Police is complete.

“The reason is, if the leader is mediocre, all he has in mind is doubt or even has a phobia about technology. Fears of taking responsibility make people never feel the benefits of technology, ”said Nurkhasanah. He emphasized that in life it is easy to find leaders who marginalize technology just because they do not have an attitude, and are even afraid of transparency.

Nurkhasanah further praised ETLE as the most appropriate technology in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has yet to show signs of stopping this soon. He emphasized that it is difficult not to say that this is the right solution in the midst of the Covid -19 pandemic which forces everyone to exercise social distancing. Nurkhasanah pointed out that with the implementation of ETLE which will immediately reach all provinces in Indonesia, it will prevent a crowd of more than 6 million people a year in ticketing hearings at the Court, a very significant number that has the potential to transmit Covid-19 if this opportunity is not immediately avoided.

Not only preventing crowds, the National Police’s digital system which minimizes direct contact between officers and traffic users, can also be the opening gate for Polri to become a clean institution free of corruption and bribery. “ETLE and the Polri’s integrated digital system shut down the opportunity for extortion on the streets, which in turn will erase the bad stigma of the police in terms of extortion, as we have heard in the past,” said Nurkhasanah.
