At least on the fourth day, as many as 5,328 vehicles were checked by officers joining the bulkhead posts in the South Sumatra region. Of the total number of vehicles,
3,636 were turned around.
The vehicles that are requested to rotate are motorbikes, private cars, and even illegal travels that still carry passengers. Illegal travel tries to get away from the bulkhead post, using the mode of transporting his family.
“The first day most illegal travelers were asked to make a U-turn. After being checked, it turned out that 84 of these units were travel with black police numbers. Lastly, they were still trying to escape from the bulkhead post, but they were still caught and checked. In addition to conducting examinations related to travel papers, checking negative Covid19 letters was also carried out. From the checks carried out on motorists, at least 253 riders were asked to carry out a rapid antigen test again.
This is done, because the driver can show official travel documents as well as other necessities such as transportation of goods and death. However, because the validity period of the antigen letter has expired, a rapid retest is requested.
“We carry out our duties in accordance with the procedures issued by the government. If the vehicle is suspected of going home, we will ask for a U-turn, even a ticket can be imposed. We have done this,” said Hotman.
Hotman appealed to the public to continue to comply with the government’s appeal regarding the ban on going home. Not doing homecoming, is not the meaning of breaking the friendship line. However, this is for the common good with the aim of cutting off the spread of Covid19, which is currently still happening.
