Purna Mayor of Surabaya, Whisnu Awarded Zero COVID-19 Cases

Surabaya – The day before officially retiring as Mayor of Surabaya, Whisnu Sakti Buana received an unexpected gift. On February 16, 2021, there will be no additional COVID-19 cases in Surabaya.

“It was precisely the end of my term on February 16 that made me happy. My prize is at WA Pak Fikser (Kadiskominfo), that yesterday’s COVID-19 cases in Surabaya were zero. An extraordinary achievement, we hope it can be maintained. So that Surabaya will immediately enter the yellow zone and can be the green zone. And we all pray that the COVID-19 pandemic can be lifted from Surabaya and our beloved earth, “said Whisnu at City Hall, Wednesday (17/2/2021).

Whisnu did not expect that there would be no additional COVID-19 cases yesterday. The reason is, every day he receives active case reports per day how many additions.

“On the 16th yesterday there were zero cases in Surabaya. A record, the best achievement. As of February 16, that day there was no additional Covid. Previously there were 63, before that there were 71. This has started to decline, ”he said.

After the long weekend last weekend, Whisnu hoped that there would be no increase in cases. He hopes that Surabaya will quickly improve and Corona will soon be over.

Whisnu also asked Surabaya residents not to be tired and careless in fighting against COVID-19. Where health protocols must be strengthened, especially 3M.

“Apart from 3M, we have to keep avoiding crowds and avoiding mobility, that’s the most important thing. And this awareness has started to emerge in the citizens of Surabaya. I also thank the people of Surabaya, because of this pandemic we cannot be alone, the city government cannot be alone, we together have tried our best for Surabaya, “he concluded.
